Melanie was first introduced to yoga through one of her continuing education courses for her Occupational Therapy degree.  She was immediately intrigued by this powerful practice.  After moving to Boston in May of 2006, Melanie found a yoga studio right next to the hospital where she worked named O2 Yoga Studio.  She began practicing astanga yoga there on a daily basis and found it helped to ease her stress from working as an occupational therapist on a geriatric psych floor.  She had always loved running but after spraining her ankle running through the streets of Boston, she used yoga to help heal her ankle and strengthen her body overall.

After living in Boston for a year and experiencing an unexpected change of plans, Melanie moved back to Cleveland and found Cleveland Yoga in July of 2007.  She began practicing regularly there and in March of 2009 decided she wanted to develop a greater relationship with herself and signed up for teacher training.  Melanie completed her teacher training in June of 2009 at Cleveland Yoga under Tami Schneider learning a Power Vinyasa style of yoga influenced by Baron Baptiste.  She found so much more than she was expecting and was excited to begin teaching and sharing her love of yoga and its transformational qualities.  She hopes to continue her teacher training by attending courses offered by Baron Baptiste and Jonny Kest.
