Shannon has been an active athlete for most of her life, starting with figure skating at the age of eight, and shortly after, traveling all over the Mid West to compete. At Bowling Green State University, she transitioned to synchronized skating and competed at the collegiate level. After graduating from BGSU, she continued to skate competitively. Finding the skating environment to be stressful, she found Yoga and traded in her skates for a Yoga mat. Shannon was instantly hooked and began practicing regularly. She quickly learned that Yoga is about the Self and not about competing with others. Yoga has transformed Shannon’s life in so many ways by brining balance; providing a stronger connection to my mind, body and spirit; and offering an opportunity for continual growth. As a result she has found herself much more peaceful and content, and always try to bring the lessons she learns on the mat to the rest of the world.
After developing her practice, Shannon wanted to spread her love and enthusiasm for Yoga with others and become a teacher. She completed the 200 hour Teacher Training EFWA Program with Deanna Black in 2008. As an instructor, Shannon hopes to inspire others to bring Yoga into their lives and believes that once one has an open mind and heart, he or she can receive all of the wonderful physical and spiritual benefits of Yoga.
Shannon’s classes are fun, energizing, vibrant, and have a dance-like Vinyasa flow style.
